Tips on natural hair

DON’T COOK YOUR HAIR.
If you decide to blow dry, use a curling iron, or apply some other type of heat to your hair, make sure you put it on a low setting. It is best to set the temperature at something below 350 degrees.
If you use a blow dryer, you may want to attach the diffuser. This will distribute the heat over your hair, as opposed to blasting your hair with direct heat for an extended period of time.
DON’T USE HARSH CHEMICALS.
I love a fun color like the next girl. But the harsh chemicals in hair dyes, relaxers, and texturizers can strip your hair of moisture and its natural curl pattern.
If a product contains ingredients like lye, parabens, certain alcohols, and other dangerous ingredients, put it back on the shelf.

DO MOISTURIZE.
I cannot stress enough the importance of moisturizing your hair. Products like leave-in conditioner and certain oils can add the moisture you need for healthy hair.
You also have to think about how to maintain that moisture. That comes with the use of silk and satin, and the use of protective styles. Both of these topics are discussed later in this post.
